Trump warns Putin of more tariffs over Ukraine war. Really?

If that's what Donald Trump has had up his sleeve all this time - imposing more tariffs and taxes on Russia unless it ends the war in Ukraine - then I seriously doubt his old friend Vladimir Putin will budge an inch. Tariffs? He's had to deal with those for as long as he can remember, and the Russian economy, while bumpy, has survived since he invaded Ukraine nearly three years ago. Trump's threat is not exactly fire and brimstone stuff. In fact, very watery and very unimpressive. I thought the plan was that Trump would ring Putin on the first day and warn him he would flood Ukraine with long-range weapons to hit Moscow unless he agreed to a peace settlement immediately. The Kremlin is still waiting for this call. After the tariff warning on Trump's social media platform, the Kremlin spokesman seemed unmoved. So, very much a damp squib so far, Mr 47th President. Perhaps he will reveal something a little tougher the next time he addresses the Ukraine war issue. Everyone wants it to come to an end, even possibly Putin himself.
