Trump enjoys causing chaos

Chaos theory is all about how small incidents, like a butterfly or bumble bee flapping their wings in one part of the world, can have a global impact. Well, right now it's Donald Trump flapping his not insignificant wings and the resulting chaos is there for all to see across America. Two million civil servants today received offers from the Trump administration to resign and take redundancy based on eight months' pay. It's all part of Trump's/Elon Musk's plan to cut the federal budget by about $2 trillion. Two million is a helluva lot of people. It means that if they all refuse to go, then they will probably be sacked. If they are transgender or gender-neutral or anything else perceived to be out of the ordinary, they will probably be sacked anyway. The Pentagon doesn't know whether it's standing on its head or whirling around. There have been so many executive orders from the White House that at one point when there was a freeze announced on new spending, the powers-that-be at the Pentagon didn't know whether that meant they had to stop all new defence contracts. The giant defence industry would come to a halt. Then there's the question about women in combat. Will females be allowed to carry on fighting on the frontline with their male counterparts? Pete Hegseth, the new defence secretary, claims he has changed his mind about allowing women in combat. But now he has been confirmed as Pentagon chief, perhaps he will row back and make a policy change to stop women putting on their combat boots. Yes, it's the chaos theory at work.
